This section contains reviews on books. It lists mostly the books that rajesh used to learn stuff. Only the very best of the books are recommended here. These opinions are, however personal opinions of rajesh and have nothing to do with anything else.
A classic book. It guides you through novice stage to mastering the language . It introduces all the important aspects of the C programming language. All the code and concepts in the book are perfectly portable.
Note: Many readers have pointed out that some things I claim here are wrong (including the portability issue). Note that this article was written way back in 1999-2000, it may be absolutely irrelevent to later editions of the book. I haven't kept myself updated with the later editions, so please do not rely on this review.. Also note If any of the readers have a review of the later versions, please get in touch with me, I'll upload your reviews here.
This book is for experts in C . It is not easy to follow this book if you dont have good knowledge of C . Since the book teaches TSRs , portability should be least of your concerns . This book has a lot of code and less than adequate explanation .
An excellent book . Lucid explanation and easy to understand code are at the core of this book .
Each segment in Code is explained well . The multiple facets of this complex language are brought
to light one at a time . The book also guides the readers away from many pitfalls that exist in C.
This is a boon for a C programmer migrating to C++ .
After you finish reading the book , you will have no doubts whatsoever regarding the language.
The book takes a practical viewpoint you will have nothing to complain about once you finish
reading the book. There is absolutely no con of this book .I have heard about "toy examples"
complaint on this book . Though this might look like a drawback , it helps novices to language
grasp the concept.

There is an absolute need for every C++ programmer to learn STL ; A comprehensive refrence manual
for standard C++ STL ( i.e, The Standard template library ) ( like this book ) is therefore
necessary. The book has a lucid style and the output of most programs is readily visible from the
programs themselves.
The con of this book is that it may be too comprehensive for a newbie . The level of detail is
amazing.
My Conclusion is that if you somehow can't get your hands on Bruce Eckel's Thinking in C++ Volume 2 you should get hold of this book.
