Reason :: Common guys! Let us stop this usage.

I am no grammar Nazi, and quite often pick up and use neologisms. But one common mistake I'd very much like to see the back of is the usage of the word "common" to mean "come on". I see this more often than not in "chats" and in SMS. It is not uncommon for someone to say something like - "common man, it's not that far" - leaving me confused. Eventually it dawns on me that "common" must be read as "come on" and then it makes sense.

In the end, my humble plea is - "common guys, let us stop this usage".

@Harish: I dont see your problem, therefore I wont fix it :D

@Sushanth: Rite means something like a ritual, while right means both the "right side" and "correct". So there is no problem there. I am not against the use of word "rite" to mean "right" simply because the meaning is always clear from the context.

2. Ya Rite

You know what you are right. We use "common" for "come on" which is not right.

By the way "RIGHT" is one of other words used just like common. We should be using "RITE".

What I said right no?????????

PS: ROFLMAO, Rajesh where do you get these ideas?

And security image is not right fix it. Common fix it man.

3. lol.....

Looks like you finally found an un"comeon" subject to write on :D

btw, there seems to be a problem with adding comments, if i type the wrong captha, the only way i can add a comment is by refreshing the page, and in doing so losing whatever i have types. So "common", get it right fast!!
